Bioi think the most beautiful thing in nature available for our viewing pleasure is the moon in its waning gibbous phase. if you look at it with enough clarity you can notice the actual dimensions of this rock, so perfectly spherical it's painful, glued to us by gravity. you can see that it is an object of a certain size at a certain distance, and that there's absolutely nothing but void in between you and it. you can reach out and wrap around it with your fingers of depth perception, feeling terra's grip and luna's grasp; their desperate, perfect embrace perpetuating a furious waltz around a burning master. if ever you ride in the car with me while i am driving at night, it's against the rules for me to look at the sky.
